About Business Walks

Business Walks are a collaborative, Basin-wide listening effort led by Tahoe Prosperity Center with chambers, business associations, local governments, community organizations, and volunteers.

Through short, structured conversations and an online survey, we gather insights directly from business owners and managers and look at what we hear alongside other regional economic and community data.Repeated over time, Business Walks help identify patterns, persistent challenges, and emerging needs—while strengthening connections between businesses and the organizations that serve them.

Why Business Walks Matter

  • Bring business voices into regional conversations
  • Add qualitative insight to traditional economic data
  • Identify emerging challenges and opportunities
  • Strengthen relationships between businesses and regional partners
  • Build a shared understanding of Tahoe’s changing economy

From Listening to Action

Business Walks aren't just about collecting data. TPC shares what we hear with regional partners and connects these insights with other economic and community indicators.

Repeating the process every two years helps us identify patterns, persistent challenges, and emerging needs—and turn business voices into information that can inform regional action.
